30-day-giving-challenge-253x300

Well, the first week of the 30 day giving challenge is over.   I was kind of stretched and so excited that I wanted to do it all at once and then petered out as the week went on.   Isn’t THAT the story of my life!

On Sunday, I did several things.   I got my home bookkeeping in order so that I knew how much of my offering goal I was behind on and so I wrote probably 8 checks as donations that I’ve been meaning to do and have 2 left to do.   I also bought some Boy Scouts Popcorn (which I normally wouldn’t do).

I’m also kind of ashamed to say that it was something I had to think of do to leave my leftovers at the potluck hosts’ house.   Most of the time, I bring it (or at least part of it) back home.    That’s always been my biggest place to need to stretch: to count on God to provide.    I have a tendency to try to save parts of things or be a bit stingy or not offer my very best and that’s not a good example nor is it good hospitality.   I have an opportunity to work that this weekend, too :).

I started working on my husband’s pants this week.   I bought him about 4-5 new pair this summer and thought I could salvage a few but he hasn’t been able to wear any of them.   They are all in need of new hems and I HATE to sew.   Well, I guess it’s more that I don’t know HOW and I don’t do things I’m not good at.   So there :P.   Another area to stretch, right?   I’ve gotten two pair finished and one pair is pressed, pinned and ready to sew.   They’ve actually got me kind of wanting to sew more.   I just need some patience is all.

Can you hear the ligaments tearing?

The rest of the week I either did little things I’d rather not mention for fear of revealing too much about people I know or I didn’t do much of anything.
